Overview
DeMarini has updated two of their amazing fastpitch bats: the CF and the FNX Rising. There are a couple of big differences between these two, which we will shortly explain.
Let’s find out which bat is for you.
DeMarini CF Zen
DeMarini CF Zen is a fastpitch bat that is made for light swinging in mind. The DeMarini CF is a balanced bat with a long barrel that is a perfect match for contact hitters. The composite barrel of the bat is much lighter then older bats made with a new ParaflexPlus technology.
And because the new CF has a long barrel, it also has a bigger sweet spot that feels great on hits and on mishits. The end cap on this years model is also new, much stronger and also much lighter then the one on old models.
This is probably one of the best, if not the best balanced fastpitch bats for light swinging, contact hitters in the game right now.
DeMarini FNX Rising
DeMarini made the FNX Rising a power hitter’s dream fastpitch bat. The new model features a two piece handle which gives the hitter more power then ever before.
The FNX Rising, like the CF Zen, has a huge sweet spot but has a stiffer feel that is preferred by power hitters. Barrel of the FNX Rising is durable and light, made possible by the Continuous Fiber Barrel, and that is a very cool and amazing technology. Basically, it is made from a composite sheet that is rolled into itself, producing a lighter and more durable barrel.
Although it is made specifically for power hitters, the bat is very balanced.

Construction and design
DeMarini CF Zen
The DeMarini CF Zen (-10 and -11) has more control and a bigger sweet spot then previous years models and that is because the new CF has a Paraflex Plus Composite Barrel. Weight distribution of the bat is optimized by the 3Fussion Connection which also gives a better feel.
The endcap of the CF Zen is called a ReAction EndCap – a very strong and at the same time, light end cap.
The bat has a Black/Blue/Orange colorway for a -10 drop and a White/Blue/Orange colorway for a -11 drop.
DeMarini FNX Rising
The new FNX Rising from DeMarini has a very stiff feel preferred by the best power hitters in the game. That stiff feel is made possible by the Siesmic End Cap which is made by DeMarini’s stiffest materials.
The FNX Rising is a balanced fastpitch softball bat that has a Continuous Fiber Barrel – a composite barrel that provides a big sweet spot and more durability. The handle is a 2-piece Direct Connection Handle – a handle that gives power on contact and energy.
The colorway of this bat is one of the most amazing on the market right now and it will definitely draw attention to it.
Summary
DeMarini makes amazing, high quality fastpitch bats and these two are no exception. Both the CF Zen and the FNX Rising perform amazing on the field. Both are very light and balanced, both have great feel and both look great. But, there is one big difference between these two bats. The CF Zen is made for contact hitters and the FNX Rising is made for power hitters.
Both are top of the line in their divisions, so the decision on which one to purchase is entirely up to your playing style and preferences. If you are a contact hitter, you will prefer the light swings and precision that the new CF Zen has, and if you are a power hitter, you will prefer the stiff feel and power of the DeMarini FNX.
You can’t go wrong with any of these two, because, as we said earlier, they both are high performing, top of the notch fastpitch bats from a great company, DeMarini.
