Meet Resident Expert - Cindy Bristow
Cindy Bristow of SoftballExcellence.com is known for giving softball coaches instruction and tips in an easy to understand, common sense way so that they can instruct their own players more effectively.
Cindy's extensive history with the sport of softball includes:
over 35 years of softball experience
Playing at the collegiate level as a pitcher and 1st baseman in college for Cal Poly
Pomona
Earning All-American honors
Playing
professionally for the Santa Ana Lionettes in 1976
Coaching college softball for Arizona State University,
New Mexico State University and Wichita State
University.
Director of Junior Olympic
Softball for the Amateur Softball Association for 7 years overseeing
all youth softball in the United States. While in this position
Cindy was also co-creator of the ASA's VIP Coaches
Education Program in addition to writing 2 youth softball
coaching books and producing 14 instructional
video tapes.
When Softball became an Olympic Sport Cindy became
the Director of National Teams and Coaching
Development for USA Softball.
Cindy helped guide the selection of the US's first-ever
Olympic Softball team that won a Gold Medal in the
1996 Olympic Games.
Cindy coached for 5 years in the Women's Professional
Softball League coaching the Georgia Pride who later
became the Florida Wahoos. In 2000 the Wahoos were
WPSL World Champions and Cindy was
Coach of the Year.
Recently Cindy worked for the International
Softball Federation (ISF) as their Director of
Development working with over 126 countries to increase
their level of coaching and play.
Through softball Cindy has traveled to over 30 countries,
given over 300 coaches or players clinics, written 7
books, written and produced 17 instructional video
tapes, and become one of the leaders in softball instruction
in the world.
Cindy's down-to-earth method of teaching and common-
sense approach to the game will help you, your players,
and your team!
