Read this Fundraising Article - Top 7 Fundraising Ideas Car Wash - The good 'ol car wash. Hold a car wash at your local gas station/K-Mart/Wal-Mart, etc. Charge per car, possibly more for vans or trucks. Supplies needed: water hose and nozzle, sponges, buckets, chamois, soap, cash box, signs for your car wash. Other helpful supplies include a squeegie, table, tent, and a cooler for drinks. You can even sell juice, water, or soda at the car wash as an added way to raise money. Some organizations also offer to vaccuum the inside of the car for an additional fee. With good weather and planning, it's possible to collect about $500-$600 in a day for a car wash. FREE Car Wash - Have team members obtain pledges from friends, family, and neighbors for the car wash (i.e. $0.10 per car washed). You'll need to keep a log of the cars that come through so you have an accurate count (we suggest writing down the make and model of each car that comes through). The cool thing about this fundraiser is that, not only do you collect pledge money, but often times the people who come for the FREE car wash will leave a donation too. Those who did make pledges can also come down and have their cars washed as well so can also get something out of the money they contribute as well. Homerun Derby - This fundraiser also involves obtaining pledges from friends and family, but this pledges are taken for each foot that a player can hit the ball (i.e. $0.05 per foot). A homerun derby session is scheduled either after a practice session or on a weekend when those who've made pledges can come and watch. Each player gets a chance to hit, either off a pitching machine or off a coach. Players get a certain number of swings to try to get their best hit. The best hit is measured and players collect pledges accordingly. Advertise FREE? - Local radio stations in your area may allow you to advertise your fundraiser for free on the air. This is a great way to let people know about your fundraiser if you are having a sale, car wash, mini fair, benefit concert, or any other fundraiseing event. |
