I would like to express my deep appreciation for the efforts of the many people who contributed to the completion of this book.
First and foremost is Bill Redmer of Fast Pitch World On Line without whom I would never have gotten to first base. His counsel, suggestions and continual encouragement kept the project on track. He always seemed to have just the right words needed to keep everything going.
Second is Bobby Simpson of Higher Ground who, on many occasions, provided great insight through his review and critique of the work.
Third is Mary Nutter of National Sports Clinics who offered numerous suggestions which improved the overall quality of the book.
Special thanks to my wife June who put up with many, many late nights and countless questions about grammar, words and appearance of the book; and my daughters Holly and Linda who continually reviewed the book and provided on going support for the effort.
Sincere gratitude is extended to the coaches, especially those from Boulder Competitive Girls Softball, who took the time to review the book and provide excellent feedback which helped immeasurably in making the book a useful tool for the reader.
Finally, my sincere appreciation is extended to all the people who have provided me with advice and counsel over the twenty five years I have been involved in softball. I cannot count the number of times I have asked for, and received, guidance and support from my fellow coaches and my players. One of the best things about sports is the camaraderie and willingness to help your teammates and opponents that exists among the participants. I have benefited greatly from that environment and I hope that this book will be my contribution to helping my fellow coaches.
As you can see, I got a lot of help from a lot of people!!
