The Oklahoma Sooners softball team has been a force to be reckoned with throughout the years. They have brought home a total of 5 NCAA championships, including 4 in the last decade. The Sooners have also won 13 conference titles.
With the successes they have had throughout its history since the founding of the team in 1975, you can assume some big players have played for this team.
The OU softball team is loaded with talent, but some players have had more impact than others. We will look at the top five players to play for the Sooners and give their stats and awards.

Lauren Chamberlain

Lauren Chamberlain played as an infielder for the Sooners from 2012 to 2015, where she set some amazing numbers and helped the team to win the 2013 Women’s College World Series.
A Team USA member in 2013, Chamberlain holds three Oklahoma records which include Runs Batted In, total runs scored, and total bases. She also holds the NCAA record for home runs, which she has a total of 95.
Keilani Ricketts

A Sooners pitcher from 2010 to 2013, Ricketts is an absolute OU star. A former All-American, Keilani Ricketts has been a key player in OU’s success in 2013, which culminated in winning the National Championship, the second one in Sooners’ history.
Widely considered as one of the best pitchers in NCAA history, Ricketts holds the Oklahoma Sooners’ record for most wins and was the Big 12 Pitchers of the Year in 2013.
Jessica Shults

Jessica Shults is a former OU Sooners outfielder from 2010 to 2013, where she was an All-American. Shults was a member of the title-winning team in 2013.
A standout player, Shults ranks 4th in total bases in the Sooners’ history and was selected three times for an All-Big 12 team. She now works as an assistant coach on the University of Houston softball team.
Paige Parker

Having won two national titles with Sooners and being a 4-time All-American, it’s no surprise that Paige Parker is considered one of the best in the OU softball’s history. No other player in the school’s history has as many perfect games as Parker (4).
A 4-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Year during her time at Sooners, Paige Parker is now an assistant head coach at Utah Utes.
Sydney Romero

Also a two-time national title winner, Romero was a vital player for the Sooners in their championship runs in 2016 and 2017. Romero was twice selected for the All-Big 12 first team and twice for the All-Big 12 second team.
Now a student assistant at Oklahoma, Romero played the third baseman during her time at the Sooners and won the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2019.
