Although adidas offers Power Alley 3 with metal cleats, we’ve decided to review the Thermoplastic Polyurethane version with molded cleats. The manufacturer boasts the cleats sleek sneaker style with synthetic upper featuring three-stripes branding and glossy shockwave pattern. The unique, high-tech inspired design might have its fans, but we cannot say that it is followed by a high-tech performance.
Comfort
These cleats are comfortable and easy to play in for a recreational softball player. A full-length LITE STRIKE EVA midsole combined with Ortho Litesockliner offer decent cushioning.
Durability
Power Alley 3 is made with synthetic materials that are superior in performance but lack the sturdiness. ADITUFF abrasion resistance in the toe and the IRON SKIN toe cap add some durability.
Fit & Feel
Internal shank plate supplies mid-foot support and torsional rigidity for enhanced stability. These cleats fit nicely but they run smaller.
Performance
The high-performance molded thermoplastic polyurethane cleat offers solid grip and good traction for digging in and running the bases. TPU heel clip ensures good support.
Overall Quality
Overall quality is as expected; not the best, but not the worst either. Considering the price we would say that this is a decent fastpitch molded cleat you can get for your money.
PROS
- Made with flexible high-performance synthetic material
- Improved support and abrasion resistance in the toe
- Interior liner absorbs moisture for a dry fit
CONS
- Sizing: They run small.
